November 20th EDDA – Center of Excellence and the humanities journal Ritið hosted a conference discussing the responsibilities of universities in times of crisis, with the aim of disentangling the various moral and political questions regarding the social responsibility of academia before and after the crash, seeking ways to describe and elucidate how academia is connected to and dependent upon the rest of society.
The conference featured academics from the University of Iceland and Bifrost University. Articles based on their talks will be published in Ritið early 2011.
