Early Career Paper Prize



Emerging scholars may submit their paper to win the early career paper prize which will be awarded during the 7th Nordic Challenges Conference.

In conjunction with the final ReNEW conference: Uncertain Futures: Nordic (In-)Securities, New Geopolitics and Societal Ruptures, at the University of Iceland in Reykjavík (22–24 May), we will award the Early Career Prize – one in humanities and one in social sciences.

Eligible candidates are PhD students or those who have completed a PhD within the last three years. The paper should be relevant to the ReNEW general streams (see here) and must have been presented at a ReNEW event after the Third Nordic Challenges conference (i.e. 9 March 2019), including virtual events and papers accepted for the 2024 conference. The winners will be announced in connection with the 7th Nordic Challenges Conference dinner, and each of them will be awarded 1300 EUR prize money.

The 2023 ReNEW Early Career Paper Prize in social sciences was awarded to Betina Slagnes from University of Oslo and in humanities to Niri Ragnvold Johnsen from University of Adger.
